Expectation vs Reality

Updated: Apr 14, 2021

Let's talk about expectation vs. reality with lash extensions.

•At MJ's, we hold ourselves to a certain standard as clients' integrity of natural lashes (NL) is our priority. Meaning that we will NEVER apply extensions in any manner that would damage NL. Before we start applying extensions, we ask clients what their desired look is, then we assess NL and determine if the desired look can be achieved. This is why when clients choose a look from a picture from Pinterest, we may not always be able to match that look.

•If we determine that the desired look will cause damage to NL, we will make a recommendation and try to accommodate our clients as much as possible.

•The look of lash extensions will always depend on the health of NL. No two sets will ever be the same since everyone's lashes are different. If a client desires a dramatic, dense look or wants to go with very long extensions but has very few and frail NL - her lashes will not support the weight of long, thick extensions. Too much weight on thin NL will cause damage.

• There's a little bit of math in the world of lash extensions with diameters and lengths. For example, suppose a client with short, frail lashes desires fullness and super long lengths. In that case, we will recommend a thinner diameter with longer lengths. A thinner diameter will not add as much weight as a thicker and longer extension. This look may not give her as much fullness but will give her longer lengths while we maintain the integrity of her NL.

•We are always happy to explain all of the options available to our clients, as we are passionate about our work and strive to deliver beautiful results. We will also always be transparent when it comes to expectations vs. reality. Please keep in mind that social media looks may not always be the best option for a client's NL.

•We offer free consultations so that we can answer any questions clients may have! Consultations may be booked at www.mjskinnaturals.com
