Autumn Lash Shed
Updated: Dec 6, 2020
I found this great post on Instagram from Lash411 this morning, and I wanted to share it. It explains the effects of the climate change our lashes experience in the Fall. Very similar to the Spring lash shed! This post thoroughly explains why the shed happens...
Repost from @lash411 | it's that time of the year..... ・・・ We may be approaching the end of the summer and welcoming the cooler weather. Up till now most of us have been battling either the high humidity, low humidity or high temp - resulting in our adhesives failing to perform and our clients lashes not lasting - as well as most going on summer holidays, subjecting their lashes to sun tan lotion, chlorine, salt water and wondering why they do not last as well as when they are home!!! But beware - do not get too comfortable as it's about to get tough again!!! ITS THE AUTUMN LASH SHED!! - and there is NOTHING you can do!! At this time of the year you will notice your clients retention will suffer and the lashes will start to thin out. Why does it happen ? In a nut shell (and having researched this) we have hair to protect us from the sun, so in the autumn and coinciding with the equinox we no longer need as much hair so we start to shed it. Don't believe me then take a look at the plug hole in your shower at this time of the year and then you will know!!! In order for our bodies to produce hair it must pump blood to those cells, but in the winter when our immunity is lower due to lack of vitamin D our bodies will divert blood to our major organs instead of our hair which we no longer really need. Therefore get ready for it, poor retention and thinning lashes So sooner Infills and lighten up the weight of the lashes until it all settles down Explain this to your clients so that they are not alarmed by this but get ready for the rocky ride! Educate your clients and let them know it will cease after a few weeks!!
